You may have taken your time in finding her, this wonderful woman of yours, but you certainly made the right decision to spend your life with her. After all, who is it that you share all of your secrets with, all the happy events and occasions in your lives with? Who is it that listens to your problems, without criticism, and puts up with your snoring, your socks, and your dubious dress sense, not to mention the dreadful man flu you suffer so terribly, taking to your bed in self pity. To add to this list, she also accepts your raucous friends and totally understands your need to play a round of golf, cheer on your sports team, yell at the TV and leave the towels on the bathroom floor as part of your daily ritual.
After all this time, and despite your daily demands, she is still by your side, supporting and encouraging you through life’s little ups and downs. She still feels the same way about you with that lovely fluttery feeling, that she did when you first started dating. In those days, you would really make the effort to impress, always looked appealing, enthralled her with your scintillating wit and took her to the best places in town. Perhaps, even though you love her more now than ever before, you find it is all too easy to come home from work, wolf down your meal and slump on the sofa in a semi-conscious state. So, don’t you think that you should get back to making the effort that you used to with your great relationship, especially for this wonderful girl, and make her feel like your queen once more? She’s always there for you, come what may. She is the mother of your fantastic kids, or will be when you both get around to it. She loves you, there is no mistaking the fact, but you will go to the top of the class again with a little consideration and thought, in selecting a special anniversary gift just for her. Pamper her, treat her to something luxurious, or give her inspiring experience day anniversary gifts that she will never forget.
Celebrate your anniversary by showing how much you adore her and appreciate everything you have together with wonderful anniversary gifts. Show your romantic side with a truly heartfelt gesture by giving her an anniversary gift that will last for ever, with a Name a Star Gift Box. This is the anniversary gift that will express your love, with your chance to offer her her very own star. She can name it herself and will receive a personalised certificate, stellar star fact sheet and astronomy pack, as well as a night sky book and guide to help her locate her star on those romantic evenings spent outside with a glass of bubbly. To accompany this anniversary gift, give her the personalised bottle of champagne to enjoy with her star and with you of course, with a personalised label and an excellent blended champagne.
She is always telling you how women make the best drivers, so why not hold her to it, and give her a Driving Day Experience as an anniversary gift. Give her a Full Day Off Road Driving Experience Gift Pack, and she can see just what she can do with a 4 wheel drive vehicle on some of the country’s roughest terrain. She will love you forever for having faith in her ability, and will thrill at the chance to try out some serious driving techniques in dirty conditions. Think outside the box and don’t just buy her that predictable bunch of flowers that will have wilted and died before the week is out as an anniversary gift. Give her a Personalised Windowsill Apple Crate Box, a rustic and charming addition to any garden, and one that can be filled with a beautiful array of plants and flowers throughout the year and beyond. This lovely anniversary gift carries a personal message from you on the side of the crate, and can be filled with anything you wish, not just horticultural items, but sweets, chocolates and lots of other goodies.
If you have your good woman running ragged after you, perhaps what she really needs as an anniversary gift is a lovely pampering session and a bit of piece and quiet. A Balinese Indulgence Experience offers pampering with a difference, to alleviate all that stress that has accumulated recently, and she can enjoy an exotic flower petal foot soak, soothing back massage and Balinese facial. All this and a glass of champagne too will surely work wonders on her state of mind, and she will return to you feeling revived and ready to enjoy a great celebratory night out. Go ahead and treat her to something a bit special. She knows you love her, but go that extra mile. She deserves it.To explore our range of anniversary gifts further, please visit our website.

It is always lovely to hear that your friends or family are getting engaged. Before long, a glossy wedding invitation arrives through your door, and in your mind you start planning what you are going to wear, spending considerable amounts of time hunting for the perfect outfit for the wedding.
More than likely you have spent more on your clothes than you had originally planned, or maybe you have received several wedding invitations that you have accepted, and they are all happening this year. That means you will have to either risk wearing the same outfit again to another wedding, or fork out more hard earned cash for something new, which seems highly likely, especially as your silky skimpy summer outfit will not be practical if worn at a shivering November ceremony. And this brings us to those wedding gifts. Oh no, I hear you groan, not more expense. However, if you choose carefully, wedding gifts need not be expensive at all, and will not break the bank let’s leave that to the experts!
An inexpensive wedding gift will mark the occasion beautifully and will remind the bride and groom of your special friendship and their happy day for a long time to come. For a truly stylish wedding gift that will be proudly displayed, the Two Silver Hearts Mini Token is made of polished glass and features 2 overlapping hearts for a contemporary and decorative feel. It comes with a lovely presentation box and you will even see change from a fiver. A Well Done Heart Token is a splendid wedding gift in hand made pewter with a well done engraving and is presented in an organza draw string pouch.
Add a touch of mirth to the bride and groom’s big day with a humorous Love Book by Edward Monkton. This witty wedding gift contains laughs, romance, wise thoughts and comments on love and a touch of quirkiness and is one of those wedding gifts that can be appreciated again and again. For a special little wedding gift that will really be appreciated, a Personalised Wedding Day Chocolate Bar can be personalised with the names of the bride and groom, with their wedding day details as a delicious reminder of the happy day. They can keep this fine wedding gift as a keepsake or stuff their faces with it as soon as nobody is looking. Either way, it will be a really appreciated wedding gift.
None of us ever have enough photo frames to fit our favourite pictures into, and there will be an awful lot of wedding photos to accommodate in their new love nest, cherished photos that will be on show for a long time. Useful and attractive wedding gifts such as the With This Ring Photo Frame will be out on show for years, especially as they display two photos at one time, and around each frame are the words ‘with this ring I thee wed’ to add further romantic atmosphere to this lovely present.
What’s the reckoning that the happy couple will want some peace and quiet when they finally arrive at their honeymoon suite? Make their night by presenting them with the ultimate Do Not Disturb sign. A Mr and Mrs Beaded Door Hanger in a white satin fabric is encrusted with dazzling white beads spelling out the words Mr and Mrs for all to see. If they hang this on their hotel door, they are guaranteed an undisturbed few hours alone together and all thanks to you. Wedding gifts like this are priceless and very inexpensive.
Once the honeymoon is over, the bride and groom’s thoughts will probably turn to building their love nest, decorating and kitting it out just how they want it. This will include a bit of work in the garden too, and to help them create a blooming lovely flower bed or two, a lovely wedding gift of a Pocket Garden Congratulations Nasturtium will provide some fast growing bright colour just when they need it. All that they need to do to create some flowers is to follow the instructions, add some water to the sachet of seeds and growing medium and either place on an indoor windowsill or transfer outside to a flower bed. Either way, this wedding gift will not cost an arm and a leg and is bound to be enjoyed by the happy couple.
Finally, all newlyweds eventually reach a stage where the excitement of the wedding ceremony, party and honeymoon are over all too soon, and as they settle back into a normal life together, a wedding gift of funny marriage anecdotes, Your Marriage – An Owner’s Manual, will put a smile back on their faces. For very little money there are so many imaginative wedding gifts that will make a great impression on the big day.To explore our range of wedding gifts further, please visit our website.

Suddenly it’s that time of year again, Father’s Day is approaching, and with it comes the perfect opportunity to celebrate and thank your Dad for all the things that he does during the year!
Contrary to popular belief, Father’s Day is not a commercial day created by greeting card companies to sell more cards and gifts – it is in fact a celebration dating back to 1910, and when it began there were actually no greetings cards in existence to mark the occasion!
Brief History of Father’s Day
It was Mrs Dodd of Washington who first proposed the idea in honour of her father – Mr Smart, a veteran of the Civil War, who was widowed with six small children and raised them single-handedly. Upon becoming an adult herself, Mrs Dodd realised just how many sacrifices her father had made during their upbringing, and wished to honor and celebrate his many achievements… so the first Father’s Day was created, and eventually in 1966, President Lyndon Johnson made it a feature of the US calendar with a presidential proclamation. America isn’t the only country to celebrate the festival, however – many countries in Europe, Asia and Australisia celebrate and mark Father’s Day with slightly different customs and traditions, as well as different calendar days.
Importance of Father’s Day Cards
In the UK, Father’s Day falls on 21 June, and it’s a perfect opportunity to give your Dad a small and thoughtful gift, or even just Fathers Day cards – as long as you put some thought and care into it! This is not the time to be buying a bargain basement card from the local corner shop or garage, or picking something last minute and slightly bent at the corner or faded on the front! Fortunately there are now many excellent Father’s Day cards which suit all tastes and interests – whether your Dad likes humour, sport or more touching messages.
Personalised Father’s Day Cards
One great new development is the new line of personalised Fathers Day cards available online. The development of online shopping has become a life saver for busy people who don’t have a lot of time for shopping on the high street. The beauty of the internet is that you can browse through very extensive online catalogues and find more more products than you might otherwise have access to… and when it comes to personalised Father’s Day cards, the online experience means that you can order exactly what you need from the comfort of the sofa!
These cards are something a little bit special – they are printed on high quality and thick silk gloss paper, and each one features a high spec photographic image – a rugby ball, a star’s dressing room, a football crowd, a landscape, chips on a table and even a lawnmower! The image is finished with gloss laminate for extra shine, and the image will cleverly feature your Dad’s name, incorporated into the photo itself! For example, the football crowd might spell out ‘Dad’ or the football player’s shirt might bear his name! Inside the card itself will be a print of the message greeting you specified when inputting your order – and you can request an extra envelope if you would like to hand deliver the card to your dad yourself when it’s arrived. Even better, the delivery time is really quick – if you order your Father’s Day card before 1pm then it will be delivered the same day – perfect if you leave things a little late!
Showing Your Dad You Care!
Once you’ve ordered your online personalised Fathers Day cards, you might also want to accompany it with a little gift – perhaps a personalised bottle of champagne or a funny book with sport or hobby witticisms for your Dad to enjoy in his shed! Remember that these gifts don’t have to be particularly big or fancy if you are feeling the effects of the credit crunch – you can simply choose something small and thoughtful and spend some time with your Dad on the day. After all, time and good company is the best present a person can give – so why not present your Dad with his Father’s Day card in the morning, make him some breakfast and take him out for the day; maybe to a match or out for a walk or pint in the pub. Or you could include a handmade voucher for a takeway or day trip into your Father’s Day card – be creative and have fun with your gifts! Remember, with a little thought and pre-planning you can make your Dad feel really special and really show him that you care.

So often in life we hear about the importance of Motherhood and the role that mothers play in their childrens’ lives. We hear of the struggles of single mums, the trials and tribulations of mums going through hard times, and the very special sacrifices that some mums make to give their kids the best start in life. But how often do we hear about the darling daddies and fabulously fantastic fathers that bring such unique strengths to their relationships with their children? There are dads all over the country who work all the hours God sends to bring food to the table. Dads who would do anything to make their kids happy are quite simply everywhere. And in almost every home up and down the country there are dads who were born to be well, quite simply, dads.
All Dads express their love in different ways, and often in subtle ways that you might not even recognise. The ways a dad expresses his love can be very different from the more obvious displays of affection you get from your mum. So when you’re feeling down or things aren’t going your way, you may find that your dad fixes the plug socket in your bedroom, or gives your car a wash. Of course, there’s a lot more to your relationship than that. But whether your dad likes to help you with your homework, support you by cheering in the crowd at those all-important football matches or provide a free taxi service to ferry you here, there and everywhere, you can be sure that what he’s really doing is expressing his love for you.
Most people would agree that it’s time we celebrated Fatherhood and gave all those unsung heros an accolade for their love and dedication. What better time to do this than on Father’s Day, with the ultimate in Fathers Day presents and cards!
Get Sentimental
Nothing says you love him more than heartfelt words, and luckily there are a range of Father’s Day presents that can say all those sentimental soppy words for you without you having to blush! Dads love anything practical, and they hate to see you spend too much money, which is why coffee mugs make such great Father’s Day presents. They’re simple, practical and sentimental at the same time, and the special hand-painted messages they carry will remind dad of your love every time he puts the kettle on. So by giving him a mug with the message ‘Anyone can be a father but it takes someone special to be a daddy’ you really are giving him the best of Fathers Day presents. You can even personalise it on the back with your own name for a sentiment that will last forever.
Celebrate Your Relationship
There are so many reasons to make Father’s Day presents an expression of how much your dad means to you, and there’s no better way to do this than by giving special photo frames that express just how fantastic you think he is. How about a luxury polished glass frame with the engraving ‘I love my dad’ or simply ‘daddy’? Or alternatively, take a look at the stunning lacquer-coated frames engraved ‘me and my daddy’ and ‘Number one dad’. Not only are they stylish enough to grace any bedside table or desk, he’ll also have the joy of selecting the photo to put inside. You can be sure that with Father’s Day presents as beautiful as these, the photo he selects will be a very special one of you both.
Give Him A Chance To Show You Off
There’s no measure of the pride he feels when he’s with you, when he talks about you, or when he simply lets other people know that he’s a dad. If he’s the kind of dad that takes pride in his appearance, he’ll appreciate Father’s Day presents that emphasise his sense of style. There’s nothing like a quality pair of cufflinks to give a touch of sophistication to a smart outfit and as Fathers Day presents, they ooze good taste with their subtlety and elegance. As Father’s Day presents go, you really can’t go wrong with the ‘Top Dad’ cufflinks or the cute and colourful ‘I love my dad cufflinks’. What he’ll really appreciate most is the sense of pride he’ll feel when he’s out and about knowing that those around him will know that being a dad really does mean something special to him. If you happen to be a twin, why not get together with your sibling and buy him ‘Twin dad’ cufflinks? Rest assured you won’t find better Father’s Day presents than these if you want to see him beaming with pride. For further information, please visit gettingpersonal.

Tragic household accidents happen every day. Poisonings, drowning, and suffocation fill the evening news. No parent should ever have to deal with the heartbreak and regret that follows a preventable accident. Here are some common household dangers everyone should be aware of.
Medications
Pills look a lot like candy and liquid medications resemble juice. According to the CDC, 568,939 children were unintentionally exposed to pharmaceuticals between 2001 and 2003. While most of these cases were not deadly, they could have been. 95 percent of poisoning deaths in the US are due to medications. Medications must be stored in childproof containers in high, locked cabinets.
Cleaning Supplies
Household cleaning products may be harmful and even fatal to children if ingested. Liquid detergents and sprays are often brightly colored and resemble juice. Keep all cleaning chemicals out of reach, preferably up high and in a locked cupboard. Never leave cleaning supplies under the sink, even if it has a child safety latch.
Standing Water
The Consumer Product Safety Commission reports that 350 children under the age of 5 drown each year in swimming pools. Yet it’s not just pools that are dangerous. Any amount of standing water is hazardous to small children. Bathtubs, buckets, toilets, and hot tubs also present a drowning risk. Never leave standing water anywhere a child may get into it.
Drapery/ Blind Cords
Hanging cords can lead to strangulation. The Consumer Product Safety Commission recorded 160 strangulations involving window blinds between 1991 and 2000. Cords must be kept out of a child’s reach at all times.
Plastic Bags
Dry cleaning bags, garbage bags, and plastic grocery bags are all dangerous for small children and can lead to suffocation. Promptly dispose of or recycle plastic bags.
Latex Balloons
Children love playing with balloons. However, latex balloons can be a choking hazard and suffocation risk. Since 1973, at least 110 children have chocked to death on a balloon. If inhaled, a balloon completely blocks the airways. Don’t let a young child attempt to blow up a balloon, bite an inflated balloon, or chew on a deflated balloon.
Washing Machines
According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, 20,000 children under 15 needed emergency room care for washing machine related injuries between 1993 and 2000. Children may become trapped inside and should never be allowed to play near a washing machine.
Perfumes and Personal Care Items
Perfumes and personal care items like mouthwash are the number one source of poisoning reported to US poison control centers. Keep all hygiene supplies out of children’s reach.
Driveway
Lack of supervision, even for a moment, can be dangerous. 116 children die in the US every year after being backed over in their own driveway. Never let children play in the driveway unsupervised, even for a moment.
Plants
Many common household plants are poisonous for children. These include butter cups, catnip plants, English Ivy, Hydrangea, Iris, Lily of the Valley, and many others. Be sure to research online to see if your houseplants are safe for children.

As soon as baby takes his first steps, the world suddenly seems a whole lot more accessible to him. Those interesting drapes, those colorful books on the shelf, and grandma’s glass knick knacks on the coffee table are now within his reach. Raising a toddler is much different from raising a baby. Here are ten quick ideas to make a toddler’s environment a safe place for him to learn and explore.
1. Hide all Cords
Exposed electrical cords and pull-strings for blinds are very tempting for toddlers. However, they put them at risk for electrocution or strangulation. Hide electrical cords and use a cord-shortener for your blinds.
2. Remove the Trash Can
Trash bins are treasure troves for small children and often contain items that could harm them. Keep your trash bin in a locked cabinet or in the garage.
3. Cover Electrical Sockets
Electrical socket covers are a necessity with small children. Kids really do stick small objects into sockets and may get shocked.
4. Lock up Medications and Cleaners
Never leave medications, cleaners, bath oils, nail polish remover, or beauty supplies on the counter. They may be poisonous when ingested. Keep these items in a high, locked cabinet.
5. Never Leave Coins or Small Objects on the Counter
When cleaning out your pockets of purse, don’t leave coins, buttons, or other small items on the counter. They are choking hazards. One may be surprised how high little arms can reach to grab interesting objects off counters!
6. Bolt Bookcases to the Wall
Tall and heavy furniture should be bolted to the wall. Book cases and dressers are especially dangerous because children may climb them and they can tip. To prevent accidents, screw heavy furniture to the wall or purchase specifically designed straps to secure them.
7. Keep Knives, Glass, and Appliances up High
Sharp objects, glass, and small appliances should be stored in high, locked cabinets. Be especially wary of the contents of lower cabinets, even if they are latched. Your child may outsmart the latch. Never store cleaning chemicals in a floor-level cupboard.
8. Cushion Sharp Furniture Edges
While your toddler is first learning to walk, it may be wise to cushion sharp furniture edges. Corner guards and soft bumpers protect toddlers from hurting themselves on the pointed edges of low tables.
9. Use Gates and Doorknob Covers
If there are areas of the house that are not thoroughly childproofed, secure the doorway with a baby gate. Door knob covers are excellent ways to keep children out of rooms as well. It is advisable to put doorknob covers on any door leading outside so that little explorers cannot leave without supervision.
10. Install Baby Gates at the Top and Bottom of Stairs
Stairs are extremely dangerous for young toddlers, so install baby gates at the top and bottom. The type that screws into the wall is preferable, because pressure gates may be pushed over. Also, use railing guards if your balusters are more than 3 inches apart.

The hospital bag is packed and waiting next to the door. The nursery is ready, diapers and powders on call near the changing table and tiny outfits neatly folded in the dresser. Baby will be here any day. Yet, it takes more than one sies and bottles to prepare for a newborn. Here are five things a parent should know before bringing baby home.
1. The Crib
Crib bedding sets often come with a fluffy comforter and matching bumper. Yet babies under the age of one can easily be suffocated by blankets, thick bumpers, and even plush toys. All baby needs is a tight-fitting sheet, a warm outfit, and a swaddling blanket. Some pediatricians recommend avoiding a bumper altogether since it is merely decorative. Also be sure that the crib bars are no more than 2 1/8 inches apart and that the mattress fits snugly inside the crib. When baby comes home, remember to always put him to sleep on his back.
2. The Changing Table
Invest in a changing table with protective railings at least several inches taller than the changing pad. The pad should have sturdy straps. Be sure to always strap baby onto the table while changing him. Keep a well stocked supply of diapers and wipes nearby so you won’t have to step away for even a moment. Baby should never be left unattended on the table, as even the youngest infant can inadvertently and unexpectedly roll off.
3. Bottles
Purchase bottles that are BPA free. BPA is a chemical that may be linked to human growth and reproductive issues. Never microwave a bottle of formula, as microwaving bottles can lead to uneven heating and possibly burn baby’s mouth. Wash bottles and nipples thoroughly after use and never use a bottle of formula that has been left out longer than 2 hours.
4. Bath
Infant seats are helpful when bathing baby, but don’t be fooled into thinking it is a safety measure that will prevent all accidents. A baby must never be farther than arms reach while bathing and must be constantly supervised. Set your house’s water heater to 120 degrees or less to prevent scalding, or install an anti-scald device. It is a good idea to get your towels, diapers, and other supplies ready before bath time.
5. Used Baby Equipment
Second-hand baby equipment is less expensive or even free, but it can also be dangerous. Check the Consumer Product Safety Commission to be sure your used car seat, stroller, crib, or toys have not been recalled. Toys that are several decades old may contain lead paint and should be avoided. When it comes to car seats, never buy a used seat if you don’t know its history. It may be unreliable if it has been in a crash. Don’t by a seat that is more than 6 years old, doesn’t have an instruction manual, or is missing parts. Although they can be expensive, a car seat is one baby item you should consider buying new.
