Any avid angler has multiple fishing rods and bait. What more does an angler need to catch fish? Bobbers, tackle box, and other tools inside the tackle box for fishing is what most people would be quick to answer. One thing that could be added for an angler is a portable fish finder to locate fish. Normally an angler needs to guess where fish may be located and where they might bite. When fishing on lakes and bays, the portable fish finder locates fish like a global positioning system locates places. For those who fish at lake cabins on a boat or a dock, a portable fish finder is a must-have tool.
A fish finder for anglers is a time saving piece of technology. Depth of fish can be calculated for up to 100 foot depth. Guessing games are easily reduced and sometimes patience becomes less necessary because patience does not always pay off when fishing is not successful during unsuccessful stages of fishing trips. Frustration of not catching a fish gets reduced with an angler’s fish finder. The portable fish finder is a tool which helps those who fish search for answers where fish could be spotted on a boat or dock in lakes and bays.
It is very possible to have a good day without the fish finder. However, a chance of a good day is enhanced with a fish finder that is easy to carry. More fish could get caught when technology is used to take advantage of where fish may bite. A portable fish finder is just that kind of solution. Having good bait and using good fishing technique is the most important part of fishing, but having a portable fish finder optimizes fishing results for anglers. The portable fish finder could be just one missing piece of the puzzle for a successful fishing trip for those who fish.

Fishing with technology is done today, but pretty rarely. Fishing with technology sounds strange, doesn’t it? That would make some think using a motorboat to travel around the lake or sea is what I am referring to. What I am referring to is a portable fish finder, a tool I came across when I was fishing in a lake cabin. A portable fish finder is a tool used to locate fish in lakes and bays. Finding fish becomes easier because guessing games are normally played when anglers are not sure where fish could be spotted. When fishing at a family friend’s lake cabin, finding where fish may bite was possible with a portable fish finder, making it easier to catch fish, now it all came down to if the fish would bite.
A fish finder locates fish like the global positioning system (GPS) finds locations. When within 100’ depth, the sensors detect fish swimming underwater. The technological advances today create advantages to gain edge in lots of areas, and the sport of fishing is no exception. Before the creation of a portable fish finder, motorboats were the only technology that could be thought of to use to catch fish away from the shore besides using canoes and paddles, but now finding fish has made a good fishing day a better chance with a portable fish finder.
It is common for cabin owners and those who travel to lakes to fish, so it becomes convenient to ensure worthiness of going fishing by having a fish finder that could be used when fishing off the boat or off the dock. In today’s world electricity is valued, but power outlets are not always available outside. Batteries eliminate the need for electricity in technologies like digital cameras. The same applies with a portable fish finder. When struggling to catch fish on a bad day, sometimes it takes patience, but patience wouldn’t always pay off if there are inactive fish in vicinity. The portable fish finder solves problems when patience could pay off, and once fish are spotted, it just becomes a matter of whether or not the fish decide to bite or not.

Ever seen electronic devices on the boat to help locate fish? That tool is called a fish finder; an electronic device that locates fish in the vicinity like a global positioning system (GPS) locates places. Why are portable fish finders so valuable? They can determine whether or not the fish could bite in the vicinity an angler is fishing at. Fishing at the dock, lakes, and bays can require patience to determine if fish will bite because sometimes fish are just not in the area despite using good fishing technique and bait. A portable fish finder also can determine the size of the fish that is displayed on the fish finder screen.
The first things needed to go fishing are fishing rods and bait that should work to catch the fish an angler is looking to catch. When fish are not biting, usually the thing that is required before fish bite again is patience unless if the bait is not the right choice. Patience may not pay off as some anglers are not willing to or do not have enough time to wait for many hours before any potential for results to come through. With an electronic portable fish finder, an angler can determine if it is possible for fish to bite. If there are no bites despite seeing fish on the fish finder display, deciding on the adjustments to make becomes the next step. Sometimes the answer is patience; sometimes the answer is new bait or fishing technique. Without a fish finder, it is harder to predict why the fish are not biting or whether or not patience is needed.
Predicting where to fish becomes easier by having a portable fish finder on fishing trips at lake cabins. When anglers give up and go to a different area of the lake to fish, sometimes it is a wrong decision to end patience. It is a good decision if no fish are underwater, but guessing games would have to be played without an electronic fish finder. It is truly hard to predict where fish may be spotted at times, so when the intent is to have good days without as much of a risk of a bad day; it is great to have a portable fish finder if you fish at lakes off the boat and dock.

Fashion is something which influences a great number of people’s clothing choices from year to year. Some have no interest whatsoever, whereas others will not stop until their wardrobe is filled with the season’s top garments. Fashion has existed in many areas of life for a considerable amount of time, so is by no means new. Fashion designers seek to create new pieces however, pushing the boundaries to create distinctive and sometimes controversial concepts. As top designers are sometimes out of the price range of potential customers, large numbers of stores create similar looking items which are affordable, enabling more people to enjoy new trends.
Fashion journalists tend to either love or hate garments, and can be very influential on public perception of a particular style or design. Those who are very interested in being fashionable will tend to keep a close eye on fashion magazines for up to date information and to see the reception of new looks. People often look back at the popular fashions of past decades with some embarrassment. The 80s look is a good example – currently associated with poor taste and big hair! Fashion, however, can be cyclical. A number of older looks are currently regaining popularity; these looks are often referred to as retro.
Even those who love fashion will stop short of certain trends. The way in which people, especially women, are portrayed by the media tends to champion an unusual and often unhealthy body type, leading to young girls everywhere suffering from low self esteem and even eating disorders. It is easy to see why young people assume you have to look something like Katie Price (glamour model Jordan) in order to marry a man such as Peter Andre. Despite the recent breakup of the couple, many see Katie Price’s life as a success in general and wish to emulate her look. Due to differences in appearance and low confidence, it is unusual to find people outside of the modelling, music or movie scene wearing as a fashion statement. The sad truth is that even girls and women who put an awful lot of effort into achieving what they believe to be an ‘ideal’ look, they would still be too lacking in confidence to wear garments such as leotards.
Most high street and online stores selling the fashionable look to everyday people recognise that the majority of women are not built like models. There are all kinds of trends in existence at any given time, for people with alternative tastes, and for those who wish to just be a bit more covered up than celebrity singers wearing leotards! Items such as jeans and trousers, long skirts and more baggy tops are always to be found. Leotards, there is no doubt, can look great, and are used all over the world by dancers and gymnasts of all kinds, proof of their great flexibility. Dance wear is becoming increasingly fashionable, and it is reasonable to assume that this will continue to be the case as it features a lot in music videos. The main fashion tip to always remember is to wear something you feel comfortable in, as your confidence and ease will show through making you more attractive than ever! No family camping trip is complete without the practice of some popular camping traditions. Singing songs around the campfire, setting up tents, etc. are all camping traditions that are deeply-rooted in history. Make your next camping vacation one to remember by incorporating these fun camping traditions into your stay.
1. Setting up Tents
Staying in tents is not only an economical way to camp out – tents are a traditional dwelling that Native Americans used long before Europeans arrived. The tents that Native Americans used were known as Tipis. Tipi is a Sioux word for “dwelling.” The shape of Tipis allowed them to shed wind and rain. Nowadays, tents are far more compact and easier to carry around. The nights you and your family spend camped out in a tent while listening to the sounds of the night and going outside to admire the star-studded sky will become lasting memories.
2. Campfire Songs
Campfire songs are an oral tradition that cannot be traced back to a particular culture or time in history. Singing around the fire is a common practice across many different cultures and popular campfire songs have a variety of origins. The popular campfire song, “Home on the Range,” is Kansas’ state song while “Blow the Man Down” is a traditional sailor song from the 19th century. Some campfire songs even have spiritual significance. Both children and adults love to belt it out in front of a campfire. Bring a guitar, hand drums, and/or tambourines to make singing around the fire with your family even more fun. Only the crickets will hear you so it doesn’t matter if you don’t exactly qualify as a good singer, let loose and enjoy singing around the fire on your next camping trip.
3. Campfire Storytelling
While packing your tent, food, and everything else you need for your family camping trip, don’t forget to stock up on great campfire stories! Storytelling is a tradition in every culture of the world. Native Americans have been telling stories for thousands of years in North America. Telling stories around the campfire with your family will bring you closer together. Let your imagination run wild and make up your own stories or consult a great storybook and pick out the best stories you can find.
4. Making S’Mores
No one knows exactly where everyone’s favorite campfire treat originated but there was a recipe for a similar treat in the 1940 Girl Scout Handbook that was called “Some Mores.” Everyone in the family can enjoy this delicious sandwich cookie that consists of fire-roasted marshmallow, melted chocolate, and graham crackers.
5. Campfire Cooking
Whether you’re going to cook with a charcoal grill, dutch oven, campfire, or camping stove, making and sharing food with your family is a lovely tradition that shouldn’t be left out of any camping trip. Cultures around the world have different methods of outdoor cooking and in North America the Scouting movement and wilderness educators are excellent sources of information on the subject.

In a recent article, avid sports blogger Chris at 5ones.com, discusses the effects of wave pool surfing as a commercialized sporting competition. What type of impacts would this have on the competitive surfing circuit as we know it? At this point in time, the exposure and participation in surfing competitions is highly limited to people by geographic location. Of course, nothing will ever beat the actual experience of surfing at the beach, but promoting wave pool surfing will open up similar possibilities to those in non coastal locations. I think the introduction of wave pool surfing, as a competitive sport, is a very good idea.
Currently, most of the profit being made in the commercialized surfing industry is by the sponsors, and the manufacturers of products selling goods that are associated with the surfer lifestyle. Unlike other action sports events, most of the surfing competitions are free to attend. This is not setting well with some, and for good reason. Others may think nothing of it, since the current situation has seemed to work out well thus far. Regardless of your opinion, the fact remains that the Association of Surfing Professionals (ARP) are the organizers of the competition and have little to no control of it. The sponsors basically run the whole show, the ARP is not making much of a share, and it is hindering this action sports expansion. In a possible attempt to raise capital, the ARP is considering implementing wave pools as part of the competitive surfing industry. This would allow the ARP to start running its own events, promoting its own competitions, and bringing in its own sponsors.
What effect would this have on the competitive industry? There will be some people who will argue that, “surfing needs to stay at its core”. They may believe that commercializing this sport, in a controlled artificial environment, may in some way, diminish the spirit of its personality. In my opinion, if this vision of an evolved sporting competition turns into a reality, the spirit of surfing will in no way suffer. In a recent ESPN article, professional surfer Kelly Slater expressed his support of the idea. He believes that it could result in a lot of positive change for the industry. I mean think about it, people in landlocked states will pick up on the surfing blaze like wildfire. There will be people who have never stepped foot on a beach competing in this strenuous water sport. We’re talking open arenas, thousands of new fans, internationally televised, Monday nights through Friday night action.
Another consideration to take in to account, is the affects that weather has on surfing competitions. Many skateboarding facilities hold tournaments inside, and as long as there’s not a blizzard in progress, snowboarding competitors are in their element. Action sports involve anticipating fans and eager competitors. An indoor surfing facility would alleviate the problem of postponed competition. This new form of surfing is guaranteed to generate a whole new unique fan base, and it will also give current fans added opportunities to see their favorite surfers perform.
As Chris points out in his article, a wave pool will give skilled surfers a controlled predictable environment allowing for bigger and better maneuvers. This should not only excite the fans, but the aspiring surfers in landlocked areas, and the professionals alike.

Teaching children and young people life skills is vital. Parents, guardians and teachers all have a significant impact on the development of children, the of all kinds of things, from morality and socialisation, interacting with others, learning the norms and values of their culture, to acquiring skills such as reading, writing and mathematics. Unfortunately, a lot of children seem to view education in a negative light, and there are several explanations as to why this might be. The school day is very long for young people, and they can often feel confined and bored, despite regular playtimes and a variety of lessons. For older children and young people, being bookish and overly keen on learning or obeying teachers can lead to negative stereotyping by other students. This is a terrible shame, but peer pressure and bullying are another reason for a dislike of the education system. There also comes a time in life – usually the teenage years, when rebellion tends to occur.
If a child has had a sound upbringing until the age of around four or five, they are usually set to become fully functioning contributors to society, understanding right from wrong and consideration for others. A thirst for knowledge exists in all people to some extent, and it is often worthwhile for parents to encourage children to pursue healthy interests they have outside of the school curriculum. An example of this could be sending a child to ballet school. Learning these sorts of activities can help create an association between hard work and perseverance and reward. Students may also be more willing to respect a teacher who is teaching them a skill which they appreciate and are enthusiastic about. All people have different tastes – parents should always remember that even if it was their own ambition to attend ballet school when they were a child, their son or daughter may prefer modern dance or gymnastics, the list goes on!
No matter which pastime a child or young person chooses, if it is constructive and beneficial, parents should try and encourage lasting enthusiasm. It is best to remember that there are classes which cater for all age groups and ability levels. There are ballet schools which specialise in forging professional careers for their pupils, and others which teach skills but are more geared towards providing exercise, fun and socialisation for those who attend.
For new parents, giving a child the right start in life can seem difficult and daunting. Looking into books and aiming to understand a child’s social and moral development can help parents understand how to deal with situations which arise. Helping a child to have the right confidence levels and people skills to allow success in later life is of huge importance. If possible, allowing them to pursue their interests outside of the classroom, for example evening ballet school, can help them achieve a sense of self worth. They will learn that hard work and perseverance achieves results, and that there are many likeminded people out there for them to make friends with.If you need a ballet school, please visit our website.

The tutu is possibly the most iconic item of ballet clothing there is, but few people outside of the world of ballet know about the history of this garment, or about the variety of styles available. To those who are familiar with ballet the difference between the styles and materials, and how to make use of these factors, can become second nature. If you are a beginner to ballet and want to learn about tutus, or if you just wish to refresh your memory, then read on as we look into the basics.
Throughout its history the tutu has undergone a number of changes, and has appeared in a number of varieties, all of which cater for certain dancing needs. One of the classical forms of the ballet tutu is the bell, like the majority of tutus it has a fitted bodice, the skirt, which consists of layers of netting, does not use a wired hoop and extends outwards from the hips. Pancake style tutus are also classical, and are similar to bells other than the skirt, which is short and stiff, uses a wire hoop and consist of more layers of netting than the bell style.
Romantic style tutus are arguably one of the most beautiful and elegant garments in the world of dance. They feature a three quarter length tulle skirt, which is bell shaped, and a fitted bodice which may or may not have sleeves. This tutu creates a flowing movement that is desirable in a number of ballets, both traditional and modern. A lot of dancers have a particular fondness for these tutus, and the elegance which they can help to portray.
If you ask people to describe tutus, chances are they will use the describe a skirt something akin to a powder puff – a skirt which looks light yet has a fluffy appearance when compared to some others. These tutus were created by Barbara Karinska, and were used a lot by George Balanchine in his New York City Ballet productions. For this reason the tutus are often known as either Karinska or Balanchine tutus, or Karinska Balanchine tutus. The distinctive appearance is produced through the precise use of the netting and loose tacking, which enables the skirt to be self supporting without a wire hoop.
The kind of tutu which you choose will vary depending on your preferences, but also very much on the dance which you are performing! If you attend a dance school, you may well have a set uniform which you need to stick to – even if it isn’t your favourite, or your first choice of dance wear, but remember that each garment has been chosen for a reason, and that as you progress you can diversify your dance clothes.
A great dance outfit can really add a whole new dimension to a ballet, or indeed to any sort of dance. This may well explain why Barbara Karinska won the Capezio Dance Award, for her amazing ability to design dance costumes which served to amaze audiences and add to their pleasure when watching the ballet. Eddie Feigner was a world famous softball pitcher who started his team, “King and his Court,” in 1946. He was such a good pitcher that he needed only two fielders behind him when he pitched. His team barnstormed throughout the United States and all over the world for almost 55 years. Eddie pitched for that duration of time because the softball pitch is made with a natural motion of the arm. That’s a stark contrast to baseball pitchers who can have arm complications because the overhand throw is not a natural arm motion.
It is suggested that youth softball pitchers throw as many as three hundred pitches per week so that the repetition will give them outstanding pitching technique. Youth softball pitching tips aid young softball pitchers mentally as much as physically. There are many devices that are on the market that return the ball to them upon impact that young pitchers can use to practice their craft and many are perfect for solo play.
Some youth softball pitching tips for youngsters who want to improve themselves as softball pitchers are:
• Know the Game – Learn the rules of the game of softball, and learn all you can about the strike zone.
• Master the Strike Zone – When you pitch, avoid the middle of the strike zone where a batter can get the best part of the bat on the ball and make the best contact.
• Take a deep breath before releasing the pitch.
• Visualize the pitch and the flight of the ball before releasing it.
• Concentrate on the strike zone and your catcher’s glove. Do not think about the batter.
• Release the Ball with Confidence. Don’t make the mistake of hoping the ball goes where you intend to throw it. Throw the softball with confidence.
• Don’t Overthrow. With runners on base, do not squeeze the ball too hard. One of the best youth softball pitching tips is to throw relaxed at all times, even with the game on the line.
• Take Extra Time with a Runner on Base – Young softball pitchers must learn to control their emotions at all times when pitching.
• After You Release the Pitch, Field Your Position. Follow through after you deliver the pitch directly toward the batter. That’s why you’re wearing a glove!
• Have Fun – Remember to enjoy softball and pitching, because it is only a game.
These youth softball pitching tips are meant to help young softball pitchers to have more success on the pitching mound. Continuous practice using a variety of age-appropriate softball pitching drills will ultimately make the difference between a talented pitcher and a great one. And when you make these drills fun by tapping into the natural idolatry of softball pros like Jennie Finch, Cat Osterman, or Monica Abbott, you may find it easier to motivate your team. It is up to mentors, coaches and parents to encourage and support our youth in all their endeavors.
